Barnes Literary Festival 2021

My most recent news is that Barnes Literary Festival has offered me a spot to do a 45-minute event. I will be presenting my interactive storytelling! If you know some mini people who love acting, singing and generally bouncing around but mostly on the spot then this event is for you! We will be starting at 12 (midday)!

Please do join me and you will receive a signed copy of my children’s book afterwards if you would like to purchase one, they are £6.99p.

Pigeon is really looking forward to meeting everybody!

Thrilled to receive these two new reviews!

Reviews are an author’s best friend so please keep posting them to us!

This first review is from a best-selling author who is regularly on Twitter. His name is Steve and his profile is: @S.P.O’Farrell, this was a huge honour as he is another children’s author and he wrote the book SimonLaFray. I have always dreamt of having my book reviewed by a successful author. I was so excited, I designed this promo below:

Remember to turn your sound up!

The second review was from a reader who posted it on www.goodreads.com

Referring to The Tap-Dancing Pigeon Of Covent Garden as an instant classic made me run to find some man-sized Kleenex!

I am delighted to announce the winners and finalists of my Eco Creative Writing Competition.

Interviewed on Vince Stephenson’s live YouTube Podcast – Boomers On Books

On the 5th April 2021, I was invited to be interviewed on Boomers On Books live YouTube podcast.

If you would like to watch it, please click on the following link: https://youtu.be/jTiSl4IUwPU

Co-host of Boomers On Books, Vince Stephenson (author of the invaluable book ‘The Fear Doctor’) is such a nice chap. He really helps with making one feel calm, relaxed and he asked some really interesting questions. I thoroughly enjoyed this new experience.

I was lucky enough to have my two author friends that I met on Twitter supporting my podcast, namely Joanna Paulson and George Yushasv. Each is a talented, award-winning and best-selling author. They are hugely inspirational and I wholeheartedly recommend seeking out their Twitter profiles.

As you know, I love designing posters to compliment my literary experience and The Tap-Dancing Pigeon Of Covent Garden; so discover another below!

Reference from Year 6 teacher of John Perryn School

I was thrilled to receive this glowing reference. This was my first workshop and I had planned, prepared and practised every waking moment in the days running up to this. Hats off to teachers across the globe, they work so so hard to teach our children.

With children of my own I wanted to create a children’s story with an environmental message that showed how close to home environmental issues are, and that it’s our immediate actions that impact the planet for better or worse. It is these thoughts that led me to write The Tap-Dancing Pigeon of Covent Garden.  It’s a story that I hope will inspire future generations but is also a story that is very close to my own experiences living and working in London. I believe that children’s fiction plays a key role in nurturing young minds and in return we create knowledgeable young eco-warriors that will be inspired to protect our planet’s wildlife and safeguard the future of our precious planet!

If you would be interested in booking a virtual interactive creative writing workshop for Years 4 to 6 and/or an interactive storytelling events for Reception Class to Year 3. These have been highly successful and have been described as “inspiring, engaging and linking well to the National Curriculum,” (see review attached).

The workshop will be based on my award-winning book ‘The Tap-Dancing Pigeon Of Covent Garden’ which raises environmental awareness and other important positive life messages.

Purpose: To inspire children through a discussion of the positive themes that underpin my book that include perseverance, self-belief and courage through a colourful visually animated PowerPoint presentation and creative writing competition.  I would also discuss my experience as an author, the creative process and publishing work in an imaginative way.

Format: The workshop comprises two sessions a minimum of 40 minutes each.  The workshop can be customised according to your school’s requirements and includes an activity pack.

National Storytelling Week

I have designed this poster to celebrate National Storytelling Week 2020. This week is a lovely chance to spend some quality time with little people to show them how amazing books really are and how important they are in society. Our local bookshops really need our help. What with films out there with amazing animations and online bookshops, it feels as though books are a dying art. Lets all do our part to inspire the younger generation and show them how wonderful local libraries and bookshops are in our world.
